Jennifer and Paige’s wedding at Glacier Canyon Lodge in the Wisconsin Dells was nothing short of vibrant and full of love. As a same-sex couple, they embraced their individuality with a beautiful array of rainbow-colored details, from the smoke bombs that filled the air with color to the eye-catching rainbow cake. But they didn’t stop there—the ceremony was one of the most memorable I’ve ever had the privilege to capture. Jennifer and Paige’s vows were some of the longest and most powerful I’ve heard, so much so that I didn’t need to include any of the great speeches from later that night in their short film. Their words were passionate and deeply personal, filled with moments that made it clear they truly understand and love each other in a way that’s rare. Without even knowing, they each wrote about the little things, like who handles killing the bugs, showing just how well they know each other.

On A Personal Note

The reception was as unique as the couple themselves. In a first for me, we moved straight from the grand entrance into the speeches. There was no pause, no dinner break—just straight into the heart of the evening. It was a reflection of Jennifer and Paige’s personalities—they wanted to tackle everything head-on, making sure the night flowed just the way they wanted it to. It was a bold move, and it made for a fun, lively atmosphere from the very beginning.

this wedding was a big deal for me because it was the first time I had behind-the-scenes footage captured of myself on a wedding day. I hired someone specifically for this, and it was nerve-wracking but necessary. I’ve always believed that people need to see how I work, especially how I collaborate with other vendors like photographers and DJs. As a videographer, I often find myself being the glue that keeps everyone on the same page, ensuring the day runs smoothly for the couple.

This wedding was also an opportunity to showcase my unique shooting style—handheld, in the moment, and always striving for that seamless flow throughout the day. It was a big step, and while I was a bit freaked out, I couldn’t have chosen a better wedding for my first behind-the-scenes experience. Jennifer and Paige’s day was not only special for them, but it marked the beginning of something new and exciting for me as well.
