Cocktail Hour On The Roof: The Loft at 132 in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin Wedding

Anna & Turner were my first wedding of 2022 and it was the best way to start! It was very evident how Anna & Turner love each other, it radiated just being around them. You’re just simply in a good mood around these two. Fun fact about this couple: Anna’s sister-in-law’s brother was my first wedding film ever and I’ve shot each of those mentioned films as well. I was joking to see who I would shoot next on Turners side! Anyways, check out the short film here!

This wedding ended at The Loft, and let me tell you, it was an absolute dream. The venue itself is just stunning. The main event space is a beautiful, open-concept loft with high ceilings, exposed brick walls, and tons of natural light. It’s the perfect mix of industrial and rustic, and it’s just begging to be captured on film.

But it’s not just the venue that makes The Loft such a great place to shoot. The team at The Loft is top-notch. They’re incredibly organized and efficient, which is essential when you’re trying to capture all the special moments of a wedding day. But they’re also incredibly friendly and easy to work with.

One of the things I love most about The Loft is its location. It’s situated in a beautiful, rural area of Wisconsin, surrounded by rolling hills and lush greenery. This provided such a perfect backdrop for some drone shots. The rooftop during cocktail hour was one of the most unique experiences I’ve had while shooting a wedding. First off, I mean, it’s drinking on a rooftop, like, say less. But then being so comfortable outside for cocktail hour is always a treat. You’re up so high, you aren’t really bothered by the city noise either. It just seems so private and appropriate for the situation up there.

Of course, no wedding venue is perfect, and I did encounter a few challenges at The Loft. The lighting in the main event space can be a bit tricky, as there are a lot of windows and skylights that can create some uneven light. To save the nerd talk, settings are hard to figure out due to the lights flickering on the camera. But with a little bit of brain blast, we were able to work around it and get some truly stunning shots.

All in all, I can’t recommend The Loft at 132 highly enough. If you’re looking for a wedding venue that’s beautiful, well-run, and surrounded by natural beauty, this is the place for you. And if you’re a videographer, it’s a dream come true. I can’t wait to shoot there again in the future!
